Paul Mpokwa

I am an entrepreneurial-driven professional with a strong passion for businesses and initiatives that are a force for good. I love combining my strong background in technology with the power of business model innovation to help build thriving communities across the globe.

Between 2014 and 2019, I worked in renewable energy in Tanzania, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where I led operations and helped launch new markets, transitioning a startup company to a continental powerhouse in the solar industry. In 2019, I co-founded and ran a gig economy startup in Tanzania, where I had a practical experience of the challenges and rewards of impact entrepreneurship in the continent. Since then, I have established a successful track record of collaborating with various impact-driven organisations and initiatives that strive to create more inclusive and prosperous societies in East Africa and abroad.

Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the prestigious University of Edinburgh, where I am augmenting my knowledge and network in impact entrepreneurship, private equity and management consultancy fields.
